Animating models against pictures or a models progression
« on: December 10, 2009, 12:39:30 am »
I'm just getting to grips with TFP and first of all I must thank all the people who have posted on here... it's been a godsend to me in getting started.

My project is a conversion, a hundred year old barn to a house, which obviously involves a lot of internal restructuring/building.
Anyway, my reason for posting this is, judging by some of the other postings on here I thought I should pass on a simple little program I thought might be of use if you want to animate your projects/parts of a project for a presentation;

Hope it's of use to some of you... even if you don't use it for your projects :)

PS.
The example (apple) I attached was done using just two pictures & was my very first attempt with the program - it took about 30 mins from the very first time I opened the program up to finishing it
I had amnesia once – or was it twice?

Hi Brian,

Welcome to the forum and good to know that you find it helpful.

Thanks for sharing the morph tool - looks as though it will be an interesting program.  I have downloaded it but not installed yet. I already have a program that does that so  of thing but not the ability to pre mark points that must remain aligned, so it could be of use in the future with a couple of things I have in mind.

I had an alignment challenge in the Energy Efficient Renovator I created for the Synergy website (www.synergy.net.au/renovator). The individual animations had to overlay the TFP 360 degree movie exactly so the house did not 'jump' when the animation happened. This meant that the 'still' cameras had to be precisely positioned, so that they reproducted exactly same angle as the appropriate frame in the movie. It took a lot of camera shifts to get it right!!  I did not know about the morph tool then, although it would not have helped with this particular situation of course.

I have some other work coming up where it could help however' so thanks again for sharing it.
