How to modify wall height
« on: March 11, 2010, 09:24:58 am »
Design is near complete.
2nd floor wall is reduced height, to meet design standards and traditions for Brittany (in France) for reduced roof heights.
Typical images attached.

How do I then modify, increase, the 2nd storey wall height, say from 250mm to 750 mm.
The logical way in building locations does accept the value change, but does not refresh or modify the model.
Any ideas??

Thanks. Jai.

Hi Jai! Welcome to the forum!

First as you say you have to make a chang to building location set the wall set the wall height to 750mm
To change any walls on the drawing you have to select the walls on the drawings, then you right click on replace and select the wall,
and all old walls that you have selected will be at that height, and then you draw a new wall it will alos have that height.

That is not nessary to change the walls in the catalog as all walls will autoextend to the height you have selected in building location, by default.

Many thanks.

Mods seem only to work with the roof deleted, but looks great now. On with the holiday home...
I'll post the model when it is done and fully approved.

Jai.

Hi Jai,

Anything inserted before you change the location settings (except the floor level) will stay where they originally were. The walls are set to extend to the roof, so if the roof is already in place at the original lower level, then it will stay where it was put and the walls will still only extend to the roof. When you delete the roof, the walls will extend to the wall height set in the Location settings, so when you then insert the roof again it will sit at the new wall height.

It is an interesting house design although only one photo is showing up for me (the second).  Normally images are added by clicking the Additional Options at the lower left of the box where you type your message.

It will be good to see the completed model when it is finished.

All the best with it.
