Changing stair attributes
« on: October 20, 2007, 08:57:41 am »
I am trying to edit a L type right stair flight to just 3 steps that turn through 90 Degs around virtually the same point. So I have tried to adjust Dimension "d" between 0 and 99mm but it reverts to 610mm, tried 100mm and is accepted but the first step looks OK, but it distorts the steps 2 and 3 by lengthening the treads by around 3 x correct length. Any help on this please?

Thanks

Fred

Hi Fred  then you make adjustments to some parameter it depends on som other parameter is correct so you hav to mak changes of 2 or more parameters to get what you will have. /Robert

Thanks Robban

I have tried as you suggest changing the various dimesions but no improvement, to me it is the dimension "d" that is the problem, I have found that the corner is correctly reproduced if d is 52cms but is incorrect when d is 51cms.  Ideally I would like D to be 0cms.

Difficult to describe what happens:

The bottom step of the flight is correct, the second step starts correctly but intead of having the corner with the next wall at the wall end the left wall just continues onwards, the third step originates at the correct point but the side which would be the wall after the right angle in the second step is a line that runs from the correct wall end of the next straight flight to a point where it intersects with the wall extension from the first flight and first step of this element.

It seems to me that there might be a bug but not certain how to report that.  I have turned hardware acceleration off as that seems to be mentioned frequently.
