Creating a "stage"
« on: June 19, 2010, 10:35:32 am »
I am working on a minimalist home and want a raised section of the living room with two steps (or simply less raised sections) leading up to it. I can't figure out how to do this.

Any suggestions?

You can use a standard step and set the riser height to say 7" and then set the step height to 12 or 14" and you will get two steps. You can then assign a width of your choice to the steps.

You can also use Floor by Pick Point , draw out you section and in the floor properties set it to 12 or 14" to get your stage.

Hi jmitchell!
The best way to do this is to use Jacks suggestion 2, by use of a floor you have mor controll that way.
The image below is one example that you can do with a floor by picking point.

Great image Robert - I like it!

I think I would opt for the Floor by Picking Points too - much easier to manipulate to get exactly what you want (as your image demonmstrates!)

Hi agian!
There is on moor way to do the stage, that is to use layout and draw the outline of the stage then convert to a very thin wall 5mm or 1/2" then select the walls and ad a floor by perimeters.

This is what I know Allans favorit tool! : ))
