Some plants in Encyclopedia does only have a color rectangle

Hi there is a issue with the encyclopedia, if you will plant a carrot the image that come up in TFP is orange rectangle, I dont think this is a bug, but I think all image in Encyclopedia is not compatible with TFP15, it also look like IMSI have done some changes in the Encyclopedia it don't work like in TFP 12 to 14, search function have bee changes.
Are there any way to download the corrupt plants? Or can you edit the corrupt image in the Encyclopedia data base? You cant import the plant from Encyclopedia to TFP15 if you do it will still be a orange rectangle.

Hi Robert,

The Plant Encyclopedia is actually an add-in licensed to CADsoft/IMSI so the problem may go back to the original suppier. There are a number of plants that just come up as orange rectangles (For example, flip through the Ferns group in the catalogue). I don't know of any way to download the "missing" images unless it is possible from the manufacturers website but at the moment I can't find who that is.  I know I have seen it in the Credits for the program but where I saw it now I don't know!

If your only concern at present is the carrot image, then one of the Fern ones, set to very small, may work for you.  You could also y=use your own photo of course as a photoboard. I do almost all of my plants that way, as I find the image quality is so much better, especially for close up views.

Hi Robert,

Certainly looks familiar!!  I noticed that the Plant Encyclopedia mentioned has 15,000 plants (double the TFP version).

The thing that interested me most was the mention of 800 3D plant objects. They could be useful if they were accessible and in a format we could use. I could not find out any more about them though. The "photoboard" type images are fine for most purposes but if you move the camera overhead they just come lines, so cant be used in photoreasitic overhead views. Also, from some sun angles the shadow is just a line also unless you use two, one at right angles to the sun. To have a selection of 3D trees and plants would be ideal. I have a few of course but 800 would be excellent - if they were accessible!
