How can I generate blueprints?
« on: October 22, 2007, 02:29:02 pm »
It doesn't seem possible (unless I'm missing something) to generate blueprints from TFP but is there a simple way to export a file and at least have some sort of blueprints generated elsewhere?

Have you tried File / Pint?  I have not used it yet but it looks as though it should do what you want.

First of all, when I select file/print all that it prints is whatever happens to be on the screen.  What I need are prints that show lengths, dimensions and the myriad details needed to build a structure.

Secondly, with regard to my desire of the color of my prints, let me be more specific.  I need a set of construction level documents that can be used to first gain town-board approval and then can be used to actually build a structure.  Prints that can be handed to framers, plumbers, electricians and all other involved parties.  So yes, black on white would be just fine.

Now, can anyone please tell how I can print a set of construction quality prints, blue, black or otherwise?

Well I tried the print out of curiosity and did not have any problem with it. I was able to use all the options, Print Display, Print All, Print Window and print to Scale or Fit to Page. Each option did what I expected it to do regardless of what was on the screen (other than Print Display of course). As long as dimensions were turned on they printed also, as did my added dimensions.  Whether these are suitable for submission to a council or not I do not know (may depend on the council and extent of the work to be done). Others may be able to comment on that.
