Project Problems ?
« on: August 06, 2010, 02:35:08 pm »

Currently,  I'm having another problem with Turbo.
After saving a good copy of the current project,  when I reopen it,  I might find a "stretch" of
ceiling missing, or one of the sections of floor is incorrect.
I don't think it's a "bug" or "virus"....I've got Norton 360.  And this software is pretty good
   about blocking viruses.
I DID get a system message about an error.  It referenced adjusting the Hardware Acceleration, and to disable the  "write comb".   I did that.
On my NVidia card,  I've got 1 gig of video memory, 2 gigs of System memory, an Athlon
    dual-core processor.
I've been trying to pinpoint the problem....................
Anything you guys can think of ?

Hi there,

can you post an image showing the problems? what do you mean by "incorrect" (for the floor)

In the meantime... did you update the videocard drives?

 Draftcard :

Unfortunately..........no.   I did't think about doing a screen capture at the time.
The project starts out fine............. But, later on,  when I reopen the project, I
notice the ceiling is missing (like it's been deleted).  Or the floor has rectangular
                  "miscolorations"  on it.
Before,  I was able to select the floor, click delete and everything was okay.
(Apparently, there had been two layers of floors).
According to the Rep I spoke to at IMSI, he said that some of the specs on my
computer SHOULD be adequate.    I was trying to deduce, maybe, it's a case of
not enough memory (System or Video Card).
But, next time it happens,  I'll remeber to get a screen shot of it.
                                                                                                            Thanks,
                                                                                                            garystan

I don't think that these issues are related with video card problems or accelerations

Check all the floors / ceilings and elevations, as well as any phantom point (two very close points in the same floor / ceiling)--> I saw this issue in a couple of videocards--> two volumes in the same space render as 0 (zero, this means a hole)

Is this is not the issue, try to send a screenshot

   Draftcard  :

I wonder if  something is causing the Turbo Floor  Plan software to become corrupt.
Now, I 'm getting this constant error message :
                                  "Render: File parser error
                                   File:  Obj _3305_1_0,ent "
Sometimes, now, it'll refer to File: Light......
I'm still trying to find out if, maybe, it's a System Memory problem (like not having
    enough memory)
      Right now :
              Windows XP Pro 32-bit
AMD Athlon II X2240 2.8 Ghz Dual Core Processor
              2GB DDR2
320 GB HD (I usually try to not let this get to full )
              NVidia GeForce210 w/1GB RAM
i was told that, even if I install another RAM chip,  my System would only have a capacity
of 3GB RAM (on the 32-bit machine).
                                                                                                            garystan

Draftcard :

I tried to install the Full Version I received (on disk), and I got an error message
              referring to "insrting Disk !".
When I received this "Full Version", there was only one disk.

I think that we need to set some priorities here, and the first thing to do is get the system installed properly --> Imsi has a Complimentary Installation Assistance --> so I'd suggest that you contact them for the installation issue

Hi garystan,

I would certainly do as Pat recommends but in the meantime you may want to post a copy of your BLD file as your comments in the quote below may indicate a corruption in the model itself. It is not the software (TFP itself) that is corrupt in this instance but your specific model - usually corrupt wall joins.

Now, I 'm getting this constant error message :
                                  "Render: File parser error
                                   File:  Obj _3305_1_0,ent "
Sometimes, now, it'll refer to File: Light......

Have your tried the File / Repair Project - this will sometimes find the corrupt element and delete it.

I don't think memory is a problem as your system is better than mine and I have no trouble rendering 15MB models, unless yours is bigger than that of course. If it is, you won't be able to post it on the forum anyway as the limit is 4MB

As Pat said however, correct installation is critical.
