Improper layout in gable end walls
« on: October 22, 2007, 02:40:39 pm »
When selecting the "Auto extend" function for an external support wall that sits beneath a gabled end of a roof the resulting wall configuration is innaccurate.  Typically the second story wall will be finished to the ceiling height and then a top plate added and then traingular wall sections will be built to fill the remaining gap from the top of the plate to the peak of the gable.  It would be great if this was the resulting structure instead of 20' long 2x6's standing all the way up.

Obviously you are telling TFP to entend the wall to the roof, so that is how it would build the framing. If instead of 'extending the walls' you disable that and tick the box of the roof property to 'Show Gable', it should stop the wall at the top plate which is obviously what you want it to do.
