This is an old bug from at least ver. 12 or 14 (I forget which), maybe earlier?

Was reported back then (search this forum if curious; a couple years ago or more) but apparently nobody at IMSI or Envisioneer (coders) ever fixed it.

Should be fixed! even if not used often or even if there is a work around.

The comments below were posted by Taliesin.
They relate to the original subject of this post which had deviated onto converting Punch files to TurboFloorPlan, so the topic has been split into two to make it easier for others to find and follow the Punch conversion topic later.
Sorry Randy for this bit of confusion in that the post does not now appear to be yours.  I will reply to it separately below. Allan

Backing up to the original question of this topic, and as noted by Doug later on, this is not a new problem.  I've experienced these ghost lines in the current and previous versions of TFD-Pro for a couple of years or longer.  Just this week I was attempting to print rendered outline views and elevation views, and the mutiple, parallel "ghost lines" run horizontally across the image.  It happens with more than one printer, and I get them when printing to a PDF.  I've tried every printing and drafting setting I can find other than standing on my head to eliminate the lines.  Very annoying.

I see here in this topic that the bug has been fixed perhaps?  Do we know if that fix is now available for current version owners?  I downloaded the latest V.15 update yesterday and the lines are still there.

And, finally, do we know if the bug fixed in the new V.16?

Thanks,

Randy

When using elevation view and prints to paper in the mode "Rendered Outline", will horizontal 'ghost' lines also be printed on paper. These ghost lines are always within the building contour.

When printing to PDF (e.g. via PDF995), there is no error.

Please confirm if you also get this error.

Hi Randy,

The extra lines problem on elevations and rendered outline views is not an issue on any printer that can be set to 300 DPI but usually only Laser printers have this setting (and most PDF printers).

The problem has been not been fixed on V15 or V16 but has just been fixed (last week) on Envisioneer 7.2.  Envisioneer is the parent program and  TFP V16 equates to Envisioneer 7 (but the 3D part only). Usually any updates on Envisioneer will flow through to TurboFloorPlan a little while later, so we may possibly expect an update to V16 and it would logically include fixing the 'extra lines' problem.

However, some updates happen to Envisioneer that only involve Envisioneer itself (things to do with the Worksheet Plan Printing that is not available in TFP) so an update does not always follow, unless there are major fixes that DO affect TFP.  Envisioneer update 7.1 has not appeared (yet) as TFP 16.1, so Env 7.1 and 7.2 could be rolled together into a TFP 16.1 if there are other major things that affect TFP.  The 'extra lines' does but whether they will view this as critical remains to be seen.  Both Envisioneer updates were total program replacements becasue of the nature of some of the fixes.  This may not be warrented for TFP, if the 'extra lines' is the only issue.  Time will tell but it will obviously be a part of a future V17.

In the meantime, if you print to a PDF printer, such as PDF24, you can set it to 300 DPI and the extra lines will not appear.
