make solid fill global setting "stick"
« on: November 03, 2007, 08:14:02 am »
This may be a design feature or a Bug....but in either case....

Suggest that all "global" settings made/selected remain selected/checked etc. for all future TFP uses...until changed by user

unless specifically changed in a file....and that stickiness sticks with the file (solid fill does stick with the file, which is good,      but not sticky in the global program setting, which is bad)

Most choices seem to work that way but "solid fill" walls does not.

No matter how many times or under any circumstances (start-up, with or without file open, even with a file that has solid filled walls, upon close etc.) the "solid fill" choice always resets to no solid fill and must be selected/checked (except for opening a previously created file in which solid fill was selected before closing)

I agree - I have a similar problem with the Snap Angle, Automatic Floor Insertion and Terrain Material - it is a pain having to reset them every time.  Or is there some way already to do this that has eluded me?

Could you not just save any of these settings that are per file in the template document?  That way it would 'stick' everytime you started a new document.  I personally would not want the solid fill as a global option since I only use solid filling to show 'existing' construction.  The majority of drawings I do are new construction.

That should not be a problem as Solid Fill is still settable on individual walls, so your new walls would still be OK with the setting off.
