Problems
« on: April 10, 2011, 12:20:13 am »
I have numerous problems with this software, but before I return it for a refund, I thought I'd check to make sure it's not user error.

Lets start with a few basics:

1.  Lines - formatting a line as 'light' or 'heavy' makes not difference i.e. they appear exactly the same.

2.  Dimensions - when printing a plan, the font size of the dimensions is so small, it's unreadable...so is the text for the site boundary.

???

Hi and Welcome to the forum!

Sorry but both sound like 'user error' to use your term.

Changing line weights will only show if you 'enable' them. Generally printing is done with lineweights turned off, so that is the default. You can enable lineweights to show on sceen in Settings > Programme Settings > Workspace - check the Linework box.  When printing there is a similar check box on the Print dialog box to print the lineweights.

Have you changed the default font size for the Dimensions? Usually the default size is fine.  When setting the font size you need to remember that whatever font size you set is the size that will print on the paper.  In other words, if you choose a size of 2mm, that is the size it will be when printed, regardless of how it looks on the screen. 3mm font will print 3mm high, and so on.

I usually suggest that first time users go through all the Settings > Programme Settings as this covers the defaults. Usually they are OK but at least that way you know what can be changed if you want to.

Hope that helps.

Just ask if you have other questions.
