Somehow I've managed to hose up my camera properties.  I was trying out the various icons in the Camera Properties window to see what they did - trying to increase my knowledge - and later when I went back to a 3D camera view all I saw was clouds (background) in my main window,  and the Camera Properties window graphic showed only the dashed lines indicating the camera field of view.  The camera graphic and the the little target circle and the floor plan all have disappeared.  Some of my cameras still show the view I last assigned to them in the main window, but none of them show the stuff in the Camera Properties window.  The camera and target height and angle of view are all OK (ie, not filled with inordinate values), but the little helpful stuff that allows you to change the camera position and angle of view are gone.  I've read all the Help on cameras but came up empty.

I've hunted in vain to find what I did to undo it.  Looks like the rule is in order to go there you must have been there before but you can only go there once.

As usual, your help is greatly appreciated and gratefully received.

There is a camera "reset" button...click on it and you should be back to normal

see "zoom and navigate" toolbar; last button

Search help file for "reset"

Thanks, Doug !

Everything is now back to where I expected it to be, thanks to your help.  I didn't think to look for the verb "reset"("Resetting") in the Help search function looking instead for the noun "Camera", and I overlooked the 'resetting' topic.

I must learn to be more thorough and more patient.

Another "tip" for searching....type-in as few words as possible as the sub-set of what you are looking for...

for example if you wanted "camera resettings" it may come up empty/nothing found....but try "rese" or "cam" and you might find little or too much...then home in on your best word size.   And if still failure....try every word you can think of that relates to your search....like: view, see, find, fix, return, home, etc.

Of course I try to start with the Index or Table of Contents for the item...or at least to find the "key" words the programmers used so as to make my searches better....as often the answer is not found in the logical index or contents chapter.

Also note....for most (but not all) cases...the search tool highlights to found word in a color...so if page is long, scroll until you see the word highlighted...and there could be several on one page.
