TurboFLOORPLAN to TurboCAD
« on: November 08, 2007, 07:38:04 am »
I will be generating training videos showing how to bring your TurboFLOORPLAN work into TurboCAD (Pro or Deluxe) by Thanksgiving.

If you need working drawings, save up your $$ and buy yourself a early Christmas present :-)

The Deluxe verison of TCAD will produce good working drawings and be relatively easy to use as most of the work in done in TurboFLOORPLAN.

Looking forward to it....hoping its based on TFP12 export as .dxf or or .dwg or similar so file can be used in older ver. of TCAD such as 10, 11, or 12

And also hope it includes interiors....section views....specifically kitchen cabinets because I need to do elevations for dimension and notes to define every kitchen cabinet to purchase from a catalog and show where it is in the kitchen etc.

It will have all you mentioned Doug plus standardized notes / basic Details / preset PaperSpace layouts / preset dim and text sizes.

It is geared for ASAP type Working Drawing generation.

I call it 'no brainer working drawings' :-)

You have to adjust some items to specific local codes, like wall details.

Hi there...Jack,  just wondering if you got those videos ready .....if not,  i would like to mention how after exporting the dxf drawings to TC ...the scale of those get pretty big.
I have to rescale them to (0.003281) in order to get the right scale.... is this how you do it?.....  any other options?????

thanks for your advice.

Hi, Jack.  Great to see you are still here.  I've been gone a couple of years and am just now thinking about IMSI products again.  My wife achieved her Master Gardener Certification and I was thinking about getting a Landscape program such as Punch Landscape Deck & Patio Designer v12 or TurboFloorplan Home and Landscape Pro so we could do design work.  Trying to figure out which way to go.  I already own Turbocad Pro v11(2) and FloorPlan 3D Design Suite v8.  I like the idea of sticking to one product or group of products to do everything including home design.  Should I upgrade to TFP Home and Landscape Pro?  Is that the latest and best? Will it work with TurboCad Pro like you are talking about in this post?  Is it better than Punch?  I do appreciate any thoughts you may have on this.  Thanks
Randy
