Hardware Acceleration / solves and creates problems.

Under Settings / Program Settings / Graphics is a check box for Hardware Acceleration.

Most video cards should be 'updated' by going to the website of the manufacture of the Video Card used on your machine. This can be a difficult process , especially for users that are not well versed in the use of computers.

Video Cards are an import part of all CAD / 3D programs and vary from one machine to another.

That said, if you have a problem with the program , turning OFF Hardware Acceleration may be a solution. But it may also be a problem. With Hardware Acceleration ON, you can zip around in 3D space very nicely. With it OFF, you will think a turtle is faster than you.

So far I have these observations about when to use Hardware Acceleration and when not to.

Have Hardware Acceleration ON

When creating your model and moving about in 3D space.
When you are tracing over an Imported Image and use the Solid Fill check box (under Prog Settings / Building Aids)

Turn Hardware Acceleration OFF

If you get Crashes or ODD behavior
If and when you are doing a Rendering and you  get a error notice/crash while rendering. Sometimes it is corrected with HA - OFF.
