Hi Glenn,

Welcome to the forum.

Anybody try it yet.?  Highlights?

V16 will not be strange to anyone who has used previous versions - all the usual features are there and a few new ones too (eg Tapered Columns, splitting, joining and aligning dimensions, adjustable roof framing, Stetchup 8 campatibility etc and many improvments to how some of the tools work). As Jack aluded to, the print scale option changes will be appreciated, as it means you can set the model view scale so that the dimensions are as large as you want but they will still print the right size, as the scale can be set separately. Good for those of us with poor eyesight!!.

You will find a list of the new features and updates here: http://imsidesign.com/Products/TurboFLOORPLAN/TurboFloorPlan3DProv16/NewFeatures/tabid/1652/Default.aspx.

Video tutorials are also available and they include the V16 changes: http://imsidesign.com/Products/TurboFloorPlan/TurboFloorPlanTraining/tabid/1666/Default.aspx

Hi Robert,

Looks like you are right - can't get there by going direct either.
I'll let them know in case they don't know already.

Maybe it has been inundated with people downloading the new version!!

Hi Allan! I have install V16 now and it work without any problem, only a little alert if you use trial and will open a old drawing from V 15 it will convert the file so use Convert as Copy. One tip ad tfp16 or v16 in the end of the file name the you save it so can you use same name as the file for tfp 15.

I test to render a old drawing that crash in TFP 15 maybe take 1 hour or so, I use Radiosity 3 in this test 500 step.  I will come back with the result later.

I'm little disappointed that the not used PNG instead of BMB so you get a nice transparency then you import images to the billboard.

The work out great no crash I ad the image below not a good one but as I say before TFP 15 crash the I try the same angle.

Hi Robert,

As far asI know there have not been any changes in  the rendering side of things, so I am surprised that the model will render now if it didn't before. There have been changes in the roof so maybe something here was affecting the V15 render.

Re: New V16 / Test V15 vs V16 and export to pdf via dxf 2D

Hi This test have I done with help of the House Builder tool, 2 floor crawl space ground floor 900 over terrain.

After that have I made a section of the house and export it to 2D dxf then have I open the dxf-file in Acrobat Pro the I have measuring the hight by use built-in tool in Acrobat Pro

All work very well, but that have I expected.

Hi Robert,

The images are so large it is a bit difficult to compare them but I could not see any difference between the two images - is there supposed to be a difference?

Using Acrobat is a different way to do vertical measurements and seems to work fine.
I presume you know that when you export the 2D DXF you can import it back into TFP again and do the measurements there? You need to set the DXF so it is 'unselectable', otherwise you keep accidentally selecting it, but then you can add anything, lines, circles, text, and any dimensions you want, just as you would on the plan. The dimensions still measure automatically. It can then be printed or sent to a PDF. If you are using it just to take some vertical measurement then just insert it on another location to do the measurements.

Hi Allan! Yes the are large it is 2 screens on same screen dump, the only different is measuring menu. Tx for the tip of reimport dxf as 2 d to tfp I have never test it that way only as 3d

Hi Robert,

I assume you mean the Annotation menubar - Yes V16 is different - it has the new dimensioning tools to split a dimension, join two into one, align them etc. Works well!
