Still no word from IMSI about an upgrade. I guess they don't want my money.

I have s/w from probably 40 companies over the years and perhaps only half of them keep me informed well and make it easy to upgrade.

I agree, companies seem to miss big opportunities for sales by ignoring their customers instead of managing and acting as if they cared.  And it does not seem to matter if company is big or small.  You would think large sales would be covered by large companies...some do, some do not.

And yet I know and buy stuff from one or two person companies...and they respond personally and fast to hundreds or thousands of customers. I guess some people have better business sense than others.

I don't recall any limitations on the email sent to me....perhaps I can forward it to you?  But also got another email that a special price for August "sale" is a reduced price...but not as good a sale as an upgrade.  Don't remember them asking for a ser.no. to prove I have an older version but maybe they check against their database???

When TFP V16 was released I was enjoying my vacation  8)
I am a TurboCad user and a TFP user, however, I receive dozens of emails and letters (snail mail) from Imsi regarding all the Turbocad upgrades and offers, but I never received an email related with TFP upgrades or offers. This time it was not different, I didn't receive any email regarding TFP V16

In the past, I think that the upgrade option was in the website, and this is how I got my V14 and V15 versions (I was a V12 user)
So, this time, as I didn't see the upgrade price in the website and I didn't receive the email, I just picked the phone and called the sales dept --> they gave me 2 options --> buy by phone or by internet --> I chose by email --> 2 minutes later the email was in my inbox and it took 5 minutes to complete the purchase
I bought the download version, so the download link and SN were in the receipt, as well as in the confirmation email. Download was fast and instalation just took few minutes

So my suggestion is: call them (1-800-833-8082 ) explain the situation and purchase the upgrade by phone

Funny thing is that this week, checking the emails of my family's email address, I found the email with the TFP upgrade offer  ::)  :D

Good luck,

Pat

Happy to report product was delivered to me today (faster than anticipated), just installed and it seems to run OK for simple stuff.

Now off to reading, playing with new stuff, and viewing the Jack Zimmer CD.  Jack has always had lots of good info for users.

Good to see IMSI has email and link to update info.  IMSI has always been a responsible company with TFP.

I have been an IMSI customer from long, long before there was a TurboFloorplan and I don't believe I have ever gotten a notification from IMSI that an upgrade was available, even though I always order though their website and even though I do get other notofications from them. I assumed updates simply didn't exist. I usually waited for a sale, but now I understand I have been paying too much all these years for "upgrades", so that they actually owe me a free version.

I agree with other posters that upgrading should simply be an option on the purchase page. Every other software company I deal with provides that possibility. You usually just give your serial number. Why is that so hard?

Why not follow the suggestion made by Pat (Datacraft) above and give them a call on the number he provided. They may be sympathetic and make the call worth it, or send an email to the TFP Product Manager (Dave Taylor) (see this post http://forums.turbofloorplan.com/index.php/topic,1958.0.html) or CustomerSupport@imsidesign.com who also may be able to help.

Just wanted to add a couple of comments. I still have never heard from IMSI about an upgrade to TFP v16. There is still no option that I can find to upgrade on their website. I have never had to call them about a upgrade. I have always gone through the website. If it wasn't for this forum I would never know that there  was a v16 and that is sad. Basically they are saying if I find out there is an upgrade and I want it bad enough, I have to call them to get it . Maybe there is something wrong with my thinking, but  it is unprofessional. I used Punch! software for years and everytime there was an upgrade they would bug me with advertising even after I upgraded. By the way, I think their support is better too. I don't even know if I want to mess with an upgrade now.

I have a suspicion that something may have gone amiss with the email system for V16, as I have not had a notification about it either.  I know IMSI still have my email address, as I received one today advertising TFP Instant Architect, so there may have been a glitch at the time V16 was released.

I will raise it with them as it seems a bit odd.

May be more than just v16.  They told me on the phone a couple of weeks ago that they would send email copies of the new activation codes that I had to get for FP 10 & TC9.5.  Never received.  When I activated TFP15.1 a couple of days ago, I told the guy on the phone about it and he said the email was probably entered wrong.  Could be, but those were 2 separate phone calls & I think 2 different operators.  Anyhow, I got the TFP15.1 activation, but the guy was not at all interested in getting my email address.  And I've never gotten anything about my expired v16 trial.  Expected at least a "ready to buy?" type email.  Weird.

Just a thought, but have you checked your junk email folder?  Maybe it has been detected as 'spam' and gone in there. Also maybe check your internet service provider, as mine has a 'spam' removal service also (thankfully), but sometimes they can trap legitimate emails.
