Anomalies in the current version
« on: September 27, 2007, 06:49:16 am »
I have used the new TurboFloorplan extensively now and came across some anomalies. I have listed them here for fixing or for possible inclusion in a future product update:

1. In 2D mode, "zoom to fit" zooms to the terrain dimensions rather than the building dimensions.
2. In print mode, selecting the Print Area to Display does not select the display area but the terrain area. As this is important for scaling on regular A4 paper, this should at least be a user option.
3. Using Sound in animations does work erratic, only one sound is played and the animation stops thereafter. This happens when the sound is a longer verbal message and continues passed a next control point.
4. When using the repair function all floors are removed although they are not in error.
5. When using the DivX Encoder files in an Animation, the images are displayed upside down.
6. There is a blue colored bar between an outside door and the adjacent floor, and there is no way to get this changed or removed.
7. When exporting a drawing as an image, the image is out of proportion and squeezed horizontally
8. The global time setting does not allow for AM/PM notation nor 24-hour setting

Nevertheless, it's a great product!!

Hi Sebastian,

Maybe you should ask before report something as a bug   :)  your not batting too good.  ::)

1 and 2 occur because you have the Terrain turned on. Turn it off in the View Manager. The terrain is part of the 'extents'

3 Havent' tested.

4. Repair function doesn't remove my floors, if you have used the Room Division tool it can corrupt the floors and repair would remove them. Of all the tools I have the hardest time with Room Division.

5 Haven't tested

6 Blue color is the 'sky' you are seeing through the terrain. Try switch to an Entry Door that contains a Sill. Hinged doors have no full sill and are better for interior walls.

7.No problem exporting image , no squezing seen, I do not change the default size settings and I zoom to screen the image I want to export.

8  Am / PM is built into the Global time which takes the place of 24 hrs setting.  Uncheck "Use Current Time' to access them.

take your time and experiment a bit. the program has features in it that are different than what you may be use to.

I have found very few bugs at all in the program.

Hi Jack,
"I have found very few bugs at all in the program."

I concur, but it does appear that all bugs in envisioneer 4 are present in TFloorplan. In particular, the stair floor-to-floor height function miscalculates the distance and leaves the stair just short of the upper floor landing.

A quick question. TFP appears to Envisioneer 4 without all the pre-installed symbols and 1/3 the upgrade price. Have you observed any functionally difference in the two programs?

Al
