Bug? Same wall renders differently; workaround works
« on: November 17, 2007, 12:55:20 pm »
I made a wall for a room, then added a wall at 90 degrees to it to make another room on other side of the wall....thus my one wall became two walls...but perfectly aligned and same material.

However, when rendering at q=4, walls rendered as different brightness and looks crappy as if there were two walls.

The solution to get a good render was to remove the 90 degree wall, delete the one part of the now two part wall, re-extended the original wall so it was "one" wall only, then re-render...and it look OK.

See attached pic:  left side = "before" with "split" wall, and right side = "after" with only "one" wall.

This should not be....otherwise we have to have very simple rooms with no walls having other walls attached to them to get good renders....this to me is a serious bug that should be fixed please.

I have a "work around" but it ain't any fun....way too much work.

Aside from the 'crease', that is so realistic !!

I automatically glanced at the mirror to see the photographer...
