1000 plans
« on: January 05, 2008, 09:51:05 pm »
Just downloaded and installed today -- where are 1000 plans as listed as a feature in the product description?
The previous version I purchased years ago  -- 3D Architect -- contained a link to extra plans not included in the installation -- can find no such access.

Hi, Susan, the old IMSI FP site still has link to...

http://www3.imsisoft.com/floorplan/homeplans/search/hs_search.cfm

BUT...

They seem to be in 'Classic' FP .BMF format (FP v4--11), which TFP aka FP_12 cannot yet read...

Plan_B may be for you to look at those plans, choose one or two, and ask forum for an active FP_plus_TFP user to download to FP, export as DXF and post file...

Uh, I'm almost comatose with 'flu-like symptoms, so may have missed something...

Whatever, IMHO, IMSI has grossly mishandled FP's transition to the new CADSoft code-core...

Hey Nik --
Thanks very much for a quick reply.
Since the current literature advertises 1000 samples, they ought to provide a current link!
Wonder if it's a function of having downloaded instead of having purchased the CD?

Hi, sorry, I don't remember those 1000 plans ever being included with FP box-sets...

The inability of TFP to read FP files was first thought to be a 'release' issue. Historically, FP was 'twinned' with 'FP+1' TurboCAD version. We always had to wait several months after a new FP version for the TC transfer utility to catch up. This time, though...

Um, did you find a plan you liked ??

New TFP Plans

Hi,

I think Susan is talking about the 'Over 1,000 Sample Home Plans' as listed on the Turbo FloorPlan Home & Landscape Pro page.

These will not be the ones in Nik's Link which as he said can only be read by previous FloorPlan v4-11.

Perhaps someone can advise where the 1000 new TurboFloorPlan plans are? (Perhaps only on the DVD version, not download)

(Incidentally v7 did include all 1000 old Plans on CD2, v8 only 500, but v9-v11 only via download)

I bought the disk (physical shipment not download) and there were many plans with floorplan and IIRC elevation views.

Can't say I remember as many as 1000 tho

and I recall they were .jpg files not .bld files

But that was so long ago my memory may be wrong....so if you want more details ask again and I'll check the disk.....or you should go there if you have a disk.....if not, I am not aware of any place to download.

I have not had any real need for the pre-made plans so I did not look in-depth.

Hi,

Susan only has the download, and I don't have TFP v12 anyway, so I can't check the disc.

Perhaps someone from IMSI could comment whether the 'Over 1,000 Sample Home Plans' as listed on the Turbo FloorPlan Home & Landscape Pro page are real .bld files or just .jpg plans. If they are .bld files then are they on the DVD only? Or should there be a link to download? Maybe the line has been accidently copied from v11, and they don't exist at all for v12! (I'm sure people are expecting actual .bld files as there were .bmf files for previous versions.)

Perhaps the page needs clarifying.

And herein lies additional confusion!  I had read the information about catalog items before posting the 1000 plans question.  The link appears to contain catalog items and not house plans -- are the plans embedded in a catalog?!?
Thanks!

Catalogs do NOT contain any floor plans...only elements to add to a plan.

This is the list of images (jpegs?) of plans (not .bld files) from the linked thread....and are used for tracing to generate a .bld file

Images - COLOR\ 44 047 598  / 228 files
Images - FRONT\ 125 990 070 /1 001 files
Images - REAR\ 471 922  /2 files
Images for Tracing - GROUND FLOOR\ 85 701 152 /1 000 files
Images for Tracing - SECOND FLOOR\ 39 766 391 / 596 files

apparently there are 1000 files of ground floors and elev. views; some have second floors
