When I do full radiosity renders the first result is OK, the second is too light and subsequest ones are totally washed out.  Clicking the 'Reset Radiosity Solution' button does not reset it as I expected it would.  Closing the Real View dialog box does not make any difference either - I have to close the project (not the program) and re-open it and it will then give me a new render at normal brightness.  This is making test renders a real tedious process and I can't believe everyone is having the same issue and not commenting about it

Is there a bug here somewhere or am I doing something wrong? (I assume the latter!)

Just thought I would bring this to the top again (since I had not had a reply) and add an image to illustrate the point.  Each time I do a full radiosity render at highest quality it just gets brighter. I have the close the project and open it again to reset it - the radiosity reset button seems to make no difference.  Obviously this is not normal - what am I doing wrong?

I wish I could help but I haven't seen that. I've done many a render with radiosity but can't say I have a solution.

In order to generate a second Render with new settings, you must leave the Real View, go to your Model and make changes. Is it possible that your lighting is changing then?

The only other thing is that you mention trying to Reset Radiosity. This can be done within the Real View. Maybe your Options/ Brightness settings are reverting back to Default 0 when you Reset?

It makes no sense. I'd be happy to look at the file. jkzimm@charter.net

Jack,

I still have this problem just by re-rendering with exactly the same settings. If I just click the Reset button and render again it is brighter and the next time brigher again (washed out completely).  This happens whether I use the same light (one) or a different one and with the brightness set to 0.00 all the time.  Only closing an re-opening the project will reset it.

The file is attahced so it will be interesting to see if you have the same problem with it - and hopefully can see the problem.  This problem would help explain the earlier problems I had with the tests on the Fluro light as they were just all washed out completley.

Couldn't attach file as it is too big (limit 196k apparently).  Will email it from work tomorrow as email will not work for some reason now.

Allan have you gotten the whiteout rendering issue solved? If so can you please post the solution.
Thanks,

Dave,

Not sure yet.  I have just tried a totally new one, in case there was some corruption in the previous - just 4 walls, ceiling and 1 light.  First render beautiful.  Clicked Reset Radiosity and try again - even from the first time the image starts to appear it is just wahsed out completely - the final image was totally white.  However when I closed the Real View dialog box and rendered again it was OK.  So I assume the Reset is not working or does not do what I thought it was supposed to do.  I have sent the original file to Jack to see if he can see anything but it does seem to be that if I close the Real View dialog and re-open it, it is OK.
