Anomalies in the current version (2)
« on: October 02, 2007, 10:16:25 am »
As there's no "bug" forum yet, I'll continue to post my new findings here:

 9. It is not possible to insert openings in a wall that extends to the roof. There's no problem to insert doors, so I use doors as a workaround.

10. It is not possible to insert a window with a highlite if the total length of the window and the highlite exceeds the ceiling height. This is because the elevation is calculated based on the window without the highlite. The workaround is to insert the window without the highlite, then change the elevation and then add the highlight.

11. The dimensions of a U-Winder stairs cannot be changed correctly. The width at the back side of the landing remain at the original value. The workaround is to use another type of stairs. (see attachment)

Hi Sebastian,

No 'bugs' exist in your list.

9. Wall set to 'Extend to Roof' is the only way to add Windows. If you use the Gable end , then you cannot add windows.

10. No problem inserting windows taller than the ceiling height. The top of the original window is inserted based on location setting 'head height'. But you can adjust the Elevation as you please. I think you are again trying to insert into a Gable Wall that has been set to 'Show Gable End' rather than in a Wall that has been set to 'Auto Extend' in top bottom properties tab.

11. Setting the angle in the P type segment of the Kite Winder (U-Winder) stair adjust it's width.

Ah, just spotted the piccy...

Diagonal steps --or whatever their official name-- are remarkably common in UK terraced houses of a certain age...

Oh, neat !!

Hi Jack, thanks for your comments.

Re. 9. This problem is now solved. I was referring to an internal wall on the 2nd floor (height 400mm) that is set to extend automatically. When a door is inserted, it's easy as a door always starts at the floor level, when an "opening" is inserted however, I had to start with a smaller opening and thereafter change elevation and height to get it in the correct position.

Re 10. The problem that I was referring to happens only when you're trying to insert a window with a HIHGLITE in an outside wall. The standard elevation of the window seem to be calculated based on the window WITHOUT the highlite.

Re 11. I've tried to change all parameters, but without success. My stairs are 3400mm floor-to-floor, 17 steps, height/run is 200mm/200mm and the width of all stairs is 1000mm. The attached image shows the parameters for stair 2. What would you suggest to change here?
By the way, I have no problem inserting "U-Shape-Rright" stairs with the same dimensions.
