Drawing straight walls
« on: March 27, 2008, 06:40:02 am »
I cannot discover a method of easily drawing a straight wall in TFP 12.
Turbocad 14 allows the use of the shift key to easily draw a straight line/wall.
This feature would assist greatly if it can be provided.

Hi Quintain,

It already is provided! It sounds as though you have got the Angle Snap off. Go to Settings / Program Settings / Drawing Aids.  The Angle is usually set to 15 degrees with the Snap on, so you can always get a straight line (unless you deviate more than 15 degrees of course).  You will also a find an ANGLESNAP on the Status Bar which just turns it of and on in a single click.

And if you want vert/horiz straight....you can turn "on" the "ortho" snap

You guys are brilliant and very patient to a new but active grey haired learner as myself.
It seems so obvious when you point out things.
I had seen that (unticked feature) and had believed it meant I could not draw angled wall lines if it was ticked but of course the lateral consideration which I failed to appreciate was that it would help me to draw straight lines when selected.
When I grow up I want to be as clever and helpful as you guys.

I'm all gray haired...where I have hair.... the top of my head has freedom to breathe fresh air with no hair in the way...or very thin/sparse.  So I have a full beard to look more manly....but alas its gray too.

Well I'm not all grey yet (lots of it though) and I have 'breathing space' on top too - comes from scratching my head trying to work things out in the early days of Floorplan!!!.  I am glad this version is not too different or I would have none left either!!
