I have a rather unusual shaped deck, which I can figure the area myself using a calculator, but it would be simpler if the program knew the area....... Does it? I can't find the answer in the program help, user guide, or a search here.

I have never used the deck tools but if the deck is on its own location then Tools/Calculate/Area should give you it.
Otherwise make a new Location for the calculations and just trace a simple wall around the perimeter to generate it. Turn it off obviously so it is out of the way and delete the walls if you are using the materials estimate function.
