Hello Doug, First thanks for the heads up that version 7 was released. I am having trouble getting any object or component to show up when I import it to TFP. The exact same objects work fine when made in SketchUp 6. Any suggestions?

I don't remember importing any SU7 .skp files into TFP as yet

But could be that the file format has changed and TFP has not been updated and no longer reads the format OK? Could be why models posted are supplied in both SU6 and SU7 format....7 can read 6 but 6 probably can't read 7.

Sounds like better keep SU6 around just in case.

I'll have to run a test to check it out.....don't have SU7 on this PC so maybe tomorrow or in a few days before I have an answer.

I have confirmed my suspicions that you have reported.....

File format for SU7 is different from SU6 and earlier.  SU6 reads only SU6 and earlier .skp files.            SU7 reads all skp files.

TFP12 (with 12.01 updater) only imports SU6 or earlier files.  Trying to import SU7 skp files makes TFP crash.

I'll report a suggestion to update TFP to hadle SU7 and newer skp file formats.

Hello,

I recently upgraded to TFP 12.0 and am using Sketchup 7 also. I have tried to save drawings as SKP 6 and some work and others don't. I would really like to see a fix for this as I find SKP 7 with plugins is great. Also, I so not have SKP 6 so am kind of stuck.

Thanks, John

Hi John,

Welcome to the Forum.
It may be a question of waiting for a new version of TFP, although whether it would be in that would depend on how long V7 has been out compared to when programming of TFP would conclude. All speculation of course, all we know is that a new version of Envisioneer has been announced so we are hoping a new TFP will follow. Them comes the SKP question.
