TFP 12+update doesNOT import SketchUp 7 .skp files
« on: January 14, 2009, 08:28:53 am »
Request next ver. of TFP update be changed to accept importing SketchUp 7 (and continue to accept earlier) .skp files.

SU7 .skp file format changed and crashes TFP if .skp (ver. 7) import attempt is made.   (SU6 .skp still works).

Is TFP ver. 14 able to open and use .skp files from ver. 7 or higher of SketchUp? (i.e.fixed from TFP12)

And I assume if it does, it will still also open ver. 6 and lower of .skp files?

Doug, I havent reloaded sketchup 7 yet, but I can confirm that ver 14 does accept sketchup 6 imports.

Doug,

It would appear the V14 can use SKP 7 files.  I managed to import a couple, it said they were for V7 and one almost certainly was, as it said the drawers were interactive in SKP7. Both appears to be behave like any of the TFP element after insertion with all the usual properties.

Allan your is right V14 import skp 7 files, even better than skp 6 files was done in V12 what I can see. I will test and covert the old skp 5-6 files to skp 7 and how it will work in V14
