Window in gable end not rendered correctly

Using and old tip from Alan Chesney on this forum, I managed to place a window high in a gable end by placing a window in the wall below and then elevating it. However, it appears as though the gable end wall is the glass in the window (i.e. the window just has a frame visible embedded in the wall, no glass). I've attached screenshots showing the window fully into the gable and partially into the gable (the part below the gable is transparent).

The window may not end up being this shape or size but I just wanted to see if it was possible. Is there some way to get it to look like a window as I also want to see how the sunlight enters.

I'm using version 16.

Sorted it. I removed the visibility of the gable end wall, in the roof properties, then, in the properties of the wall below the gable end roof, I tuned on the Auto Extend option for the wall to extend it to the roof. Now the windows do make a hole in the wall and everything is fine.
