Title: How do I create cavity walls - previous topic by Paul.747
Post by: coltil on November 26, 2009, 05:57:24 AM
I am also having problems with creating cavity walls.
I read the previous post and installed Veneer Walls(metric).bim from Allan Chesney but TFP would not let me draw the walls.
Also TFP stopped working when I wanted to check the wall properties.
I am using TFP v14 and when I imported the .bim I selected 'convert for v14'
As the .bim was for a previous version this may be causing my problem.
Can anyone provide assistance.
Thanks, Colin.

Hi Colin,

First of all, what is the full version number of your copy of TFP?  (Help/About - what are the last 3 digits?)

The problem may be because the Australian version is usually a month or two behind the US one, so there may be a conflict with the BIM file.  BIM was only introduced with V14 but if you have applied any of the patches since it will ask you to convert.  I am not sure what the effect would be on the veneer wall you used in this situation.

If you uise the standard Veneer wall from tthe program it should work OK.

Hi Allan,

I am using TFP version 14.0.C2.662
I just can't seem to be able to use the standard AU/NZ veneer wall and have it show 240mm thickness in 2D plan view.

Hi Colin,

662 is the latest build so that is OK.

See the other post about the cavit walls.
