I have purchased the v14 TFP pro upgrade and am having problems opening the setup.ini file.
I was successful in installing on my Vista Laptop but when I attempt to open the file on my XP desktop I get an error message"cannot open .ini file". I have completely cleaned up and debugged my machine but no change.
TFP support says its is a problem with my machine.
Any advice? I really need to work on my 21" monitor rather than my laptop
I'm no expert on computers but from what I've read you have a corrupt registery.

Possibly 'Advanced Care System' will help.

ACS is free, and if you run "Maintain Windows' option and make sure Registery Fix along with 'Spyware Removal' are checked maybe it will help.

This quote is from another posting that discusses a problem similar to yours.
my fix was to export the following registry keys from a working machine to the machine with the fault:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\batfile
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\inifile
After exporting these registry keys and importing them into the problem machine it started working straight away.

The other option would be to try System Restore and go back as far as you can to see if the registry problem is solved.

Again, I have no hands on experience with this problem, just info I've read on the internet.

Just to close the thread, I was not able to open the file and am now waiting for a callback from HP support (iYogi). Thanks for the response Jack
