I am a total newbie when it comes to any software of this sort. I hope you can help me. I'm running on Vista, with plentyof memory and RAM. When I installed the program, I got a "file name too long" error. I had to shorten it to TurboFloorPlan. (It was trying to label the folder 'TurboFLOORPLAN Home and Landscape Pro')
1. Whenever I start the program, and frequently when I edit properties or insert objects, I get a "key definition" error.
2. My 3D camera views will suddenly stop working. The camera/pointer in the right-hand panel shink fown so the entire drawing field is only 1/4 inch across. The drawing itself is only a speck. I've tried doing a clean install, nothing seems to help. Any ideas?
3. I tried downloading the updates on the Supprt page, but kept getting an error message saying "the program to be updated seems to be missing". I wasn't able to register while I was installing, so that may be the problem. However, even when I reinstalled (see above) I can't get to the Product Registration dialogue. Is there somewhere online that I can register my product.

I think there are several issues here but some related.
First I suspect the original installation is part of the problem. There have been many problems reported installing on Vista so you may find the process described in this post helps http://forums.turbofloorplan.com/index.php/topic,931.0.html (http://forums.turbofloorplan.com/index.php/topic,931.0.html).
I would strongly recommend NOT changing the name of the installation directory. Let the program put things where it is programmed to put them, as changing file names has caused lots of problems for others previously. Vista seems to aggrivate this, as it does not allow users access to some folders that TFP uses, hence the issues and solution in the post mentioned above. Installation should always be done with no other programs running.
The camera view issue sounds like a Hardware Acceleration issue and you may have to turn if off (Settings/Program Settings/Graphics). However it could also be that you have accidentally inserted something a long way from the building. The camera view window will try to show everything it can and if something is a "long way out" it means your mini plan shrinks. You may have to go back to the plan view and try to find the stray item and delete it.
A correct Vista installation in compatibility mode, will probably solve the "Key definition" and registration issues.

Open you program--> Go to Help--> About--> Check the version number--> compare with the update number--> if the version number is higher than the update number, then your program has the update included, so, if you try to install the update, you will get an error message
However, if you changed the name of the directory, this can be the reason why the update is not finding the program to be updated

The computer won't let me install it unless I change the file name. Unless there's some way to get around the 'file name too long' error?

As Pat mentioned you must check first if you need to apply the update - you may have the latest version.
If you are sure the update is required are you logged in as an administrator and using Compatibility Mode? (- mentioned previously (http://forums.turbofloorplan.com/index.php/topic,931.0.html (http://forums.turbofloorplan.com/index.php/topic,931.0.html)). When I used Compatibility Mode I did not get any qestions about file length but I know Vista hadles the files differently, so that may be the problem. Making it compatible with XP may solve the problem for you.
