Title: Transfer Spec's from one file to a new file.
Post by: deryl on February 12, 2010, 02:27:41 PM
I am working on remodeling a house and would like to transfer the original project file to a second file that I can change so that I can compare both project files without having to re-enter all the first file info into second file. It would take time to re-enter all the home windows, doors.wall locations again. Would like to save some time if this is possible.
Thank you for your help.

Hi Deryl,

The simplest way to do this is just to do a "save as" and give it a new name, then just delete what you do not want in the second project.  It will take all the files /location specs with it. The Catalogue of elements will always be the same anyway.

You can also set the file to the settings you want and save this as a default Template. That will open with the same Locations and some other preset features next time you start a new project.

This was discussed in another post recently ( http://forums.turbofloorplan.com/index.php/topic,1060.0.html (http://forums.turbofloorplan.com/index.php/topic,1060.0.html) ). Subject does not seem to relate but is discussed at the bottom. The amage below may be all you need for the Template aspect mentioned above.
