have anyone tried to run TurboFLOORPLAN on a Mac, using Windows emulating software (e.g. Parallels Desktop or Fusion)???

I have not done it personally but I do have a freind who uses it on a Mac with no problems. I am not sure what emulation software he uses (he is away at the moment so I can't check) but neither of the two you mention ring a bell. I am sure I would remember it if I heard the name.
If there another common one?

I am currently running TFP on my MacBook Pro using Parallels. I have also used VM Fussion in the past. I find my system a little sluggish at times but I have TFP and Turbo Cad running at the same time along with numerous mac programs.

My experience over the past two years with MacBook Pro 2008 4GB memory on Leopard and Windows XP3 (BootCamp) virtualized with Parallels (allocated 2GB) was somewhat disappointing. I can load my medium-sized house model, but it is VERY SLUGGISH in emulated mode.
I have just upgraded to SnowLeopard and Windows7 on a 2009 MacMini (4GB), and experience the same sluggishness. Several factors play into the 3D rendering, booted in native mode there's just MORE of everything.
MEMORY: the difference between 2GB and 4GB of memory is probably significant to TFP, perhaps a native Windows user can confirm this.
VIDEO RAM: Getting exclusive access to ALL the video RAM probably helps.
PROCESSOR: Getting all of 2 processors instead of just one processor (and maybe a little of the other).
Bottom line: For a short operation without reboot, virtualization is great. But when I really want to work with TFP, I boot into native Windows mode.

Just to confirm, I recently changed from 2GB to 4GB on Windows Vista and it did make a big difference in moving around the model - become ultra quick and smooth.
