Title: Program locked up on encyclopedia
Post by: chris06 on March 28, 2010, 03:48:11 PM
Hi

When I try to get to the plant encyclopedia the program (TurboFloorPan pro V14) locks up. I uninstalled and reinstalled, downloaded the latest patch level, no success. But when I select a plant and look at the properties I can see the plant details from the encyclopedia.
Did anybody experience something similar?

Thanks

Hi chris06, welcome!

Please try this :
Download / install / run Spybot Search and Destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html and Malwarebytes http://www.malwarebytes.org/ --> Both are free and very effective--> I know, sounds odd, but I saw dozens of users experiencing crashing and freezing problems and we solved them just cleaning the malware

Let us know what happend after these steps

Pat

Also, make sure that the file is in the correct location. If you've messed with your file folder structure at all or moved it, it could cause the program to lock up like that.

Thank you for the answers. George, the files are in the location that the install program put them into. Pat, I ran both programs; this did not solve the problem but that was a good thing to do anyway as a few bad things were removed!
In fact I just found out what happened. I have a small laptop (12" screen) and use it at home in extended bureau display mode, with the main bureau being on the laptop. Obviously I run FloorPlan on the extra large screen. I discovered that the problem is solved when I call the encyclopedia from the screen where the bureau is installed. If I call the encyclopedia from the laptop screen I can see it. same if I install the bureau on the external monitor  and I call the encyclopedia from this monitor.
I do not know if it it linked to my PC or if it is a "Windows" problem, but the solution is: In extended bureau mode I have to put TFP3D on the screen where the bureau is installed to access the plant encyclopedia (but everything else is OK on both screens).

Thanks again
