Still new and working my way through TFP but are there any other resources of additional catalogues than the install ones?
Also, although I can search and locate (eventually the right stuff) is there a resource of links to good BIM files?
Other catalogues and BIM files have been discussed quite a lot in the forum in the past so a forum Search could provide provide a few links for the latter especially. Typically BIM files are produced by manufacturers so are scattered on the web but I am not aware of any group of links as such.
Search for SKP too as these Google SketchUp files are useable also. Google has an online free store of objects.
The problem with imported objects is that they are not fully editable while most of the built-in ones are and will work. If you import a door or window for example, you cannot control the components that make up the object and it will not cut a hole in the wall or be included in your materials list etc.
You can also make up your own objects if you cant find what you are looking for. Search for 'Useful Shapes' and also a tutorial I recently did on 'Creating Custom Objects'.

frezz to download this BIM-files the only you have to do I to register you. I can recommend to download Kohlers BIM files I am impress how little the increase the standard catalog. But as always save a backup of the original catalog so you can go back if all mess up.

There are a number of very useful links / services in the Start Up dialog.
One I like is to increase the number of 'Recently Used Files List' found in Settings > Program Settings > General tab. Inceasing the number of files on the top right area, displays them when you start the program in the Start Up dialog.

edit: that's cool. I just read the 'latest IMSI News' in the attached .jpg image. It states that tomorrow May 20th they will start selling the latest updated training videos series. YESTERDAY, I just finished working on them and with Dave Taylor from IMSI on getting them organized into CD format. . So today they are making the disks and tomorrow they start selling.
I'm telling you, this is a hecktic time for the developers of the programs we use. I hope you all appreciate the effort that they put in to give us the best possible product they can.
I am going to get started on how to import TFPlan to TCAD training next. (no Rendering vids until they have a few 'bugs' worked out). When complete, you will be able to create Working Drawings directly from your TFPlan models in TCAD.
AND from TCAD , if you wanted to , you could export as DWG files ALL your 2D work, including Plans / Elevations / Sections / Electrical / Sites and AutoCAD users would be able to use your work without redrawing.
;D I my say sometimes IMSI faster than the flash. LOL

I see the training CD's on IMSI's site but they do not give a version number.

The full training package when open has a list of subject areas (like an Index) , then you can click on a specific subject and each tutorial contains a Table of Contents , so you can 'jump' to a specific point of discussion within the videos.
In the attached you can see I selected Building Tools from the Index , then Roofs Part II, and within the video I jumped to Placing a Raised Window in a Flush Dormer.
(PS. In addition to what is shown , the new training has an additional 30 videos (some grouped) , representing over 2 hours more than shown. They cover items in v14 and v15)

The 1-4 videos were for advertising but do contain some of the 'live - recorded' training material. They are a mix of product discussion and training vids.
I believe there are two seperate training products, one on Architectural and the other on Landscaping. Together they discuss all tools / techniques found in the Pro version.

Jack I contacted IMSI and ordered the architectural training and they said I could download it to save the shipping cost. (did not see that on their site)
When I looked at the files they are all dated 2007.
I don't see any new stuff.
I called back and they said it was the right one.
Can you give me any detail (file sizes, screen shots) to verify I received the correct version?

The 'new' videos have been 'mixed' in with the older ones. So dates may read from v12 in some cases. If you have a stand alone video at 12:59 sec minutes long with the subject mater of Printing / Batch Printing, then you have the latest full version.
That video looks like the attached.
