Is there a way to backup my files onto DVD or CD? To prevent loss of files.

Yes you can always backup of your files to cd or dvd if you have a burner software like Nero

I use a second hard disk and auto backup every day any important files
Then on a 1/4ly schedule I save critical files to CD or DVD or an off-line hard disk used for backups only and for ability to re-install a disk image of C: if drive goes belly up.

Assuming you have a CD/DVD burner and program, its usually as simple as insert blank CD/DVD, run program to save files (data, not music), and drag and drop files to program or use dialog box to find the files you wish to save...then "burn" disk
Watch for "use disk one time" or "add files later"....or you might burn a disk and leave a lot of empty space (tho disk are cheap)....the difference is "open" vs. "closed" disk. Open allows adding more files later (tho adding same name files effectively deletes the previous file but loses the disk space...unless its an R/W disk)...but closed disks are easier to open in other PCs....open disks may not open in another PC.
