Title: Semi-circular arches
Post by: brancusi on September 05, 2010, 04:46:13 AM
I've been bashing my head on a wall over this for a while now, how on earth do I persuade TFP Pro to create an arched opening with a perfectly semi-circular arched bit? I don't understand where the centre point for the radius ("e" in the assistant) actually is as it simply won't let me specify the dimensions I can draw on paper.

Do I really need to combine a circular opening and a rectangular one to get what I want?

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious!!

Assistance appreciated!

Hi Rodger,

Welcome to the forum.

It is a little odd in the sense that the radius has to be a fraction wider than half the opening. For example, keeping this in round figures (metric) if the door opening is 1000mm  wide then the radius for a half round opening would obviously be 500mm but it will not accept this - it must be 501mm. This would then increase the total height  of the doorway, so set the height accordingly. Dont touch the sides - they are just in case one side of the arch is higher than the other.

Hope that works now.

Allan
