Since Sept 2010, I'm having problems with envisoneer 5.0. Windows problem report says Stopped Working.
I uninstalled TFP 3D Home Landscape Pro V14 that I bought Mar 18,2009 than installed patch TFPPTO-14-0-C1-637.EXE and I get windows error 1628.
Are these problems from IMSI/DESIGN or Microsoft Windows?
I sent email to IMSI support Oct. 25,2010 about this and I haven't received reply from them yet.
I have Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bits.
Do you have any suggestion what I can do?

Hi and welcome to the forum.
First I would suggest that you use the forum Search for the error number as it has come up before and this may answer the query for you, however jus t couple of questions to clarify?
You said you uninstalled V14 then installed the Path (637). The patch has to be installed over the original, so did you reinstall before installing the patch?
Is the patch the correct one? You must check the original version number (eg...624 or ...637) and then upgrade to 662.
I found with Vista I had to run the exe file as Administrator (right click option) and set to XP compatibility.

The 3D picture instead of a 2D picture shows Runtime error\ Program:c:\program files\imside...
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
So I tried to open the project with 2D picture to cadsoft envisioneer 5 but that didn't work either.
What do I do now for this project?

I am not quite sure what you are referring to here. Are you referring to just one of your projects or do you mean the default "Project1" will not work?

Was this exactly the same in Envisioneer? With the same message?
What happens when you start a totally now blank project? If that works OK it may be just a corruption in the project that is failing. Have you tried File/Repair Project? It may delete corrupt elemenets. If the new one works OK then post the one that causes the crash here on the forum or email it to me (alches (AT) iinet.net.au) if you prefer and I will have a look at it just in case I can see a problem.

All my other projects work. The one project called "BRENDA'S COTTAGE..." includes other cottages in it with swimming pool, the lake etc..
It's the largest one I have in it.
I'm not sure what "Runtime" is, but I know this project uses a lot of time.
When I "open" I chose "BRENDA'S COTTAGE..." then the screen come on with "Runtime error!

If the other projects work then it is a problem with Brenda's Cottage, probably a corrupt wall or floor. Bad wall joins are usually the problem but other things can become corrupt too. Did you try the File/ Repair Project? (if you can get it to open at all).
If the project will not open then you may have a problem unless you have an earlier backup. You have been keeping backup's I hope! (?)
"Runtime" has nothing to do with processing time - it basically means the 'time at which the program start to run'. (One definition I found was "The moment of live operation. Runtime is the point when a software program springs into action to perform a task. In a service-oriented environment, applications typically assemble the components they need at runtime to make sure they have the most up-to-date data and functionality.") From that definition it indicates that something is blocking it from starting up at all. Pat is the one to explain those sort of things so he may be able to add to or clarify that.
If your project is big and takes a long time to process, then it could be the corrupt element that is causing it. Removing the corrupttion (if we can open it!) may improve that. However, it could also be that your computer may need more RAM or a faster processor (or both). Again Pat is more qualified to make recommentations in that regard.
Email the file to me and I will try to open it for you. (No promises though - I may run into the same issue as you if the corrupt element is blocking the startup process). Worth a try though.

Usually, Runtime errors are problem with the Windows OS and not an issue with a specific program. The messages appear when a program hits that error in Windows
A very common source of Runtime errors is a corrupt registry causing programs to malfunction--> so my first suggestion is a very easy step--> Clean the Windows Registry --> there are several programs to do this --> if you don't have a registry cleaner--> Go to download.com--> you will find lots of options (freeware, shareware, etc)

"runtime" files can also be 3D objects used in a program....most often seen in either Poser or DAZ Studio....almost always a set of files to make a 3D figure such as a human or animal....
if any of these files are corrupt, then you get a runtime error.
So, my conclusion would be that since you have the problem with only one project (Brenda cottage), then either that file or set of files is corrupt or its too large to use in your PC configuration or for TFP.
So can you obtain a version of the file that is known to be good? re-download it? is the file size reasonably correct for the project? (i.e. does it match the know good file size?....often a corrupt file is either smaller than normal or very large compared to normal).
And just how big is the file....1 or 2 GB? or more like 20MB? or 2MB??
What is the largest file you have run OK in TFP so far? xxxMB?
Does a TFP sample .bld of 8 MB run OK?

Largest OK is 6.54 MB
Largest TFP sample .bld is 7MB
All of my projects including "Brenda's Cottage" was OK with TFP prior to Sept 2010.
Got any ideas what I can do for project "Brenda'a Cottage" to make OK with TFP?

file size seems reasonable...tho not sure why a discrepancy of file size in two locations (in bytes)
You could post it here (may be too large?).....or because its so large maybe host it on a free web site (like dropload or similar) for others here to download and see if everyone gets the same error type; to differentiate if its the file or your PC.
If you think its your PC not handling large files, try opening 3 or more TFP .bld files together from samples....and if they are all open OK in TFP one after the other (don't close any) and they exceed 11MB total, then its looking more like the Brenda file rather than your PC memory handling.

I thank all of you for your information and your time.
I have Vista Home Premium with 1 GB RAM etc. including index 3.
I checked into the runtime on line with Windows. With their instructions on System Maintenance I already have everything they listed. I also have Microsoft Fix it center. Done that too.
I've tried everything and still get runtime error etc.. So it appears that project "Brenda's Cottage" was corrupted.
I already have everything done on this project in the past before the problem started. All I wanted to do was edited the width to 14' on the long driveway ( apx 600 feet) from the main road to the lake. Oh well.
All my backup files are on 4GB USD Flash Drives. To get more space on C\ I'll delete the TFP files off C\.
In the future I may design another project as the TFP works OK. I've designed 14 projects in the past (13 homes and 1 restaurant) so my laptop and I should take a break.
