Default terrain is 160'x160' as is a grid that fits it (when both visible in 2D)...but as you may notice the terrain is actually larger, wonder why?
I tried making my terrain size my lot size 150' x 300' and mesh size goes to very odd size and so I adjusted to 5' ...wonder what effect that has later other than small meshes are more accurate/smoother and probably larger file size.
And made grid same size....but they do not overlay...terrain is about 160 x 310....that's a problem if I want to make a slope fit correctly.
So I'm resorting to make a smaller terrain to end up with what I really want.
Any reasoning why terrain is not sized to the input data?
You can use the measure tool to check/verify.

EDIT...don't know how but played enough and I got one to work out to correct size....but next "new" file and default grid and terrain do not match tho same size.
