I have just purchased TurboFloorplan in order to draw simple 2D floorplans and now cannot see any instructions for doing this. Please could someone advise? Thanks
Hi Jan,
Welcome to the forum.
There are a number of sets of instructions under the Help Menu:
Programme Help: This is an indexed explanation of all the various functions.
Quick Start Guide: This is a 54 page PDF document that is a simple introduction to the program to, as the name indicates, get you started quickly.
User Guide: Similar to the Quick Start Guide, this is a 174 page detailed set of instructions (also PDF).
Tutor: This is an animated instruction panel. With this turned on, when you select almost any tool on the toolbar, it will provide an animated illustration of how to use the tool.
Essentially to simply draw 2D plans, you turn off any Wizards that start up, then use the Building Toolbar options. Start with Walls of course, just select one, click and drag clicking on each corner till you join up where you started. Then select the door or Window buttons, select one from the Catalog list and click it into the walls. Select a roof and just click inside the walls and the roof is added. Of course, as you draw the 2D plan the program automatically does it in 3D also so you can switch over to 3D and see how it looks and walk through it.
I am currently composing, with Brian, a very simple illustrated guide to cover these 'first steps' but not quite finished yet. I will put a comment in this post when it is available.
