Hi guys,
i am running TurboFloorPlan 3d and I am try8ing to import a file that a friend of mine made with a very old version of floorplan.
it has a .fp3 file extension.
how can i import this into my new program and use it ?

Welcome to the forum.
I am sorry but it is not possible to open .fp3 filing is TurboFloorPlan. From V12 the format was changed completely and is not backward compatible.
What you could do is export a DXF file (if V3 will do that) and import it as a trace layer. You cant then copy the walls etc to quickly re-create the 3D model. If DXF export is not possible, then you can save the plan as a JPG or BMP and use that as a trace layer.

Hi Kevin,
The change at V12 was so dramatic that it would have been a huge undertaking as the background technology was so different. Generally people create new buildings and complete them rather than continue to develop them over the years so the need for backward compatibility affected very few and the logically finished off any existing ones in the previous program.
Since V12 the program is backward compatible.

I have the old .fp3 version of Floorplan on floppy disks somewhere. If I can find a working FDD drive I'll try to re-install the program and then maybe we could at least open your .fp3 file and produce a trace layer as Allan suggests.
