Post by: Tobestos on April 13, 2011, 08:04:39 AM
i have just reinstalled my copy of turbofoorplan pro version 15
when working in 3d, the cameras are not selecting all of the walls and floors, also when i for instance try to change a brickwork finish to drywall
it only changes certain walls, can anyone direct me to a patch or give me any advice please

Your words are a bit confusing, as a camera does not select anything.

Either "select all that are similar" from right-click drop down list from one selected wall (selections made by single left mouse button click on an object in 2D or 3D view),
or shift-click each item to select a group of items and then click on properties and change the material there (shift-click will not always allow changing materials as all may not be similar)

Or, use paintbrush tool in 3D view to apply material from catalog to any object you click on.

If you are still confused, ask more questions.

One thought in addition to those Doug made:  When you change the wall colours on the Appearance tab, don't forget that you have Exterior, Left Interior Side and Right Interior Side. If both sides of a wall should be the same, then shift select Left and Right on the Appearance tab, then change the colour/texture. (Left and right is determined by the direction in which you drew the wall. A green marker indicates the start and red is the end, so you can work out left and right from that). Maybe you only changed one side of the wall and this is why sone did not change.

As Doug said - "Select all Similar" is the easiest way but if you have altered the Properties of any particular wall it will no longer be 'similar', so cannot work. This is not a 'bug' but is purposely designed that way so that you do not accidentally undo an altered feature of a particular wall.

Does this comment mean that you are having difficulty selecting objects in 3D view?  If that is what you mean it may be to do with the video driver on your PC.  Has this been updated recently, as video card manufacturers update the drivers frequently. If selecting objects is a problem, try going to Settings/ Programme Settings / Graphics and turn Hardware Acceleration off (this may make things slower). If you find you can now select these objects, it could indicate the video driver needs updating and then you can turn HA back on again. Pat may offer some more detail and ask more questions to diagnose this, if this is the problem you are having, so please confirm if this is actually happening. It is not related to setting wall textures.

An update of V15 has not been released yet. Any know issues are very minor and do not include any of the points you have raised.
