Title: Printing Dimensions
Post by: Hartosan on May 15, 2011, 02:22:54 PM
Hi,
I am having problems with printing a drawing with dimensions - if you print extents, it will only print the extents of the drawing (and cuts off the dimensions outside this box) if you print display, it prints everything but in a small area of the page (regardless of what is actually showing in the display). Is there any way to fit the drawing complete with dimensions to the page?

Thanks for any assistance,

Gary.

try the various zoom tools,

zoom out to all, then zoom in to a rectangular shape you drag out with your mouse and print display...you may need to play a bit with the sizes and how the screen shape matches the paper shape....but after a few tries you will see a pattern of what to select to get how much to print.

Allan has posted replies before about printing (I almost never print), so try searching this forum for "print" or similar word(s) for your situation.

Hi Gary and Welcome to the forum,

It sounds like you need to choose the 'Window' Option.
There are 3 options in the Print Area drop down box:

Extents will print to the Extents of the Terrain - if you have text outside the terrain it may not print - Extend the Terrain (Settings/ Program Settings / Terrain).

Display will print what you have displayed on the screen - if you have the model very tiny on the screen that is how it will print - it prints the whole screen display.

Window is best. Select Window and then go to the scren and choose the area you want to print. Click at the top left and then click again at the lower left (just 2 clicks - do not hold the mouse button down while you drag) and that window is what will print.

Hope that helps

Allan
