We have all heard or seen abut that TFP have a Punch plugin, but are there anybody what worked with both program. What I can see from Punch home site http://www.punchsoftware.com/p-23-home-landscape-design-premium-nexgen3.aspx so are this 2 program competitors in the same niche.
How is best of this 2 program ??????

I have both TFP and Punch NexGen. They are a lot alike. Punch sets up the rooms a little different but they have the tabs for walls, doors, windows, etc. I use Punch mainly for my model railroading. I can design a house or warehouse of some other building and then select HO scale. It will print out in the right scale without having to do any calculating. I take the print out and can cut out the building for my railroad. I haven't done much designing with it. I mainly need the exterior of the building with doors and windows and a roof.
I have also both.
Both are good programs, and both have lots of space for improvements
IMO, Punch capabilities were better before the nexgen programs, but rendering is better with the nexgen programs. The Punch programs have a workshop so you can develop your own objects, however, with these programs don't have some basic capabilities (example: develop a scaled elevation)
With TFP you can specify lots of elements and components. The rendering is excelent and the 2D and 3D export capabilities are amazing. However I'd say that the lack of the Copy and Paste functions (for different plans) are taking away a lot of functionality. BTW, the Punch conversion plugin doesn't work
Hope this helps
Pat
PS: and out of topic--> is it my computer ot the spell check is not working?
Hi Pat,
Looks like it is the spell checker, as it does not work for me either - just a blank screen.
I will report it!
