Jack, as discussed in the Turbocad forum attached is the file that when exported into Turbocad the TC surfaces do not joint properly and some of the surfaces are divided.
Allan you might also lend a hand with this one.
You have different dimensions for the thickness of the Dutch Hips and the Side Hips.
There are some other dimensional variations too.

Thanks Jack, I appreciate the response and can now see the problem.
A further problem with dutch hip roofs. When I change a hip to a dutch hip gable the soffits or bottom of the eaves do not line up. When the hip is created the parameter for "d" the overhang drop is 217mm but when it is changed to a dutch hip parameter "d" changes to 194 mm and because the box is grey out it cannot be changed. Is this the problem and how can it be rectified.
Attached is a file showing the problem.
Any help would be welcomed.
PS In Turbo Floor Plan, how do you save to a 3ds file?
Hi Burgo,
If a item is greyed out, that means there is another setting the automatically adjust that setting. Try changing some others and note which affects the greyed out one.
File > Export > 3D model > in pop up, change from default to 3DS in File Type drop down arrow. Bottom right.

Jack, you might like to comment on this observation. I mainly do architectural drafting and have been using Turbocad 17 Platinum to do 3d concept plans, which is a little slow when complicated roof designs are involved. Since purchasing Turbo Floor Plan 16 professional I find that simple roof designs can be done very quickly but find that more complicated roof designs take as much time to draw as in TC 17. I also get a bit frustrated drawing in TFP when elements have to be alined to objects. I miss the construction lines as available in TC 17. I know that you use both programs and was wondering if my observations are justified.

Hi Bob,
I use the Line tool found in the Layout toolbar all the time. You have to set it to dashed to look like construction line. In addition I use > select line > right click > Offset , to make a copy of an item that is an exact distance. I also use the dimensions tools as a guide to align items at times.
Height alignment is a bit harder but do-able.
