Title: Importing .skp Files
Post by: garystan on January 20, 2012, 03:31:22 PM

               Hi everybody :

I'm having a problem importing  .skp files into TFP v15, using Google Sketchup 8.  Apparently,  GS 8 isn't compatible with TFP v15.    The custom objects I made using GS 8  won't show up in the display box in the IMPORT dialog box.     So I tried switching back to GS 7, and there's no problem importing  .skp files into  TFP.       I wonder if  TFP v16 would have the same problem.
The other software for creating custom objects to be used in  TFP is way too expensive (around  $800 +).     Google Sketchup 7 works quite well.   (Proving the point that  "newer"  isn't always better.

Hi there,

Sketchup V8 was released on Sept / 2010. I bought TFP V15 on May / 2010 therefore, it was impossible that TFP V15 was prepared for SU V8

TFP V16 supports SU V8

However, using SU8, you can Save As --> save your object as SUV7 and then import it to TFP V15
