Title: Indirect Lighting thru Ceiling Opening
Post by: patjb on March 18, 2012, 03:55:08 PM
Using version 16 and trying to add indirect lighting above a ceiling with a cut out opening and below a solid higher ceiling. The light appears to be unable to penetrate the lower ceiling opening.  Is there a better way to create indirect lighting at the ceiling level?

Hi Pat,

Welcome to the forum!  :)

From my experience this is not a very easy process as enough light does not really come through the opening to illuminate the room sufficiently. I found that the best way was to add an extra light bulb to the fitting you are using and lower it below the lower ceiling.  In the example image I have lowered the second bulb a metre (3') below the ceiling so that it illuminates the room. It can take a bit of experimenting to get it right.
