This is the latest attempt at learning techniques in Turbo Floor Plan.

That has turned out really good!!  :D
Did you end up doing it with a negative height Pad?

       Hey Allan :

Yup........a negative pad.   But, in order to get the  water in the pool, I drew another pad, sized it, then did the texture..........and negative height (to show the inside edge of the pool).    Unless, there's an easier (more efficient way of doing it).       Thanks for your help.

Here is a pool made up of various parts. Pad set to minus 8', Floor with cut out around Pad edges, 2 Surfaces - one level at the Stairs the second Pitched to create 'deep end', retaining wall custom resized to make edging around pool (if you close it a floor is generated , just like using the wall tool, so I left a gap where the stairs is).

Add water of choice , which is a whole other discussion.

I like the parts method as you get to assign different textures to the various surfaces.

Nice to see how Allan did it. Though I guess there's lot of ways to do it as well. Some easy some advanced...and some that keeps you struggle a bit. I did my way of it.. will show it later when the whole thing is done.. Hehe..

For the water in the images on the previous post http://forums.turbofloorplan.com/index.php/topic,2085.0.html (http://forums.turbofloorplan.com/index.php/topic,2085.0.html) I used a very thin 'Box' (see http://forums.turbofloorplan.com/index.php/topic,315.0.html (http://forums.turbofloorplan.com/index.php/topic,315.0.html)). It is similar to what you did really (using a Pad). I don't know if one is easier than the other - both have to be resized and both are only one texture.  On the second image (the one with the people in the pool) I used two 'Boxes' to get the ripples effect.  Another image of this model from a different angle is below. One Box is used mainly to give the water's transparent blue colour and reflections, while the second Box gives the ripples and shadows.

A magnificently constructed swimming pool is a dream to all. However once you have decided to construct a pool, there are so many thoughts that walk in randomly. We completed our pool in Dec of this year. This information will be helpful for me.Thanks everyone...
