I am drawing a house with sub-floor garages and two rooms with the main dwelling above. The sub-floor area has varying wall thicknesses, 110 brick walls with engaged piers, 230 solid brick walls and 240 brick veneer walls. The top level walls are all 240 brick veneer. My problem. The foot print of the two stories are the same and therefor copying the bottom floor to the top will not work as the walls are different in thickness and design. When I try to draw the top floor on top of the bottom floor (on a different location) I am finding it extremely difficult to line up with the walls below. I hope this makes sense. Is there some easy solution to this problem.

Have you try to duplicate to locations, you select all walls you will have on the sub-floor and right click (PC) select duplicate to locations. The you have done that, select the location you copy to, select all the walls once more than right click select replace ans select the wall you will have on that floor.

Roberts solution does work - just duplicate to the location above, Shift/Select the walls that are now the wrong thickness for the top floor and Replace them with the correct wall. The only thing you may have to do is move the edges to align where the upper wall is wider than the lower one as they will be centred. This is easy to do if you move in close and use the Nudge.

This also should work if you have Snaptrack on, although again it will centre and you will have to drag the wall over to align the outer edges.

Thanks Allan & Robert for your input. I have also discovered that using the floor and foundation design wizard this can also be easily done.
