Title: Add a Point Creating a New Segment of a Roof Line
Post by: ahr8tch on November 28, 2007, 01:29:07 PM
Does anyone know if it's possible to add a point to a roof line creating one more eave segment without having to delete and redraw an entire roof?

I'm working on a drawing that has a large roof with many different eave segments and several different wall heights.  Every time I find something I want to change, I've had to delete the entire roof (haven't found a way to delete single or selected segments without deleting the whole thing) and re-draw the entire eave line then adjust for any missed points then adjust for wall heights, etc.  Several times I've found that I left out a single point and by adding just that point could save a lot of work correcting.

TIA for any help.

how about trying this,

select a roof line edge or edges, right-mouse-click, from list click on "break"  (or something similar, I'm doing this from memory)

that breaks open the line and adds new points on the line to drag.

There was an example in the forum (may have been Envisioneer forum) with images/file to get an angled roof...I learned from that.

Search forum for "break" or search help file for "break"

All you have to do is select the Roof By Picking Points again and add the bit you want. TFP will just add it in.

Tried both solutions and learned much.

Thank you!
