Title: storm water and sewer pipes.
Post by: gokeeffe on June 03, 2012, 07:05:54 PM
Is there any add ons so Storm Water, Sewer and Underground Plumbing can be drawn in as well as down pipes for gutters. Also underground power?
This would be very useful for future reference on house plans.

Cheers

Hi Graham and welcome to the forum,

TFP is all about 3D modelling and producing photorealistic visualisations and movies, so elements that are underground do not really come into the picture (no pun intended  ;D ).

Since this is it's primary function the producion of plans is a secondary consideration, however a set of 2D drawing tools is available in the Layout Toolbar (may be turned off). This allows you to draw any line, anywhere, in any style you want (thickness, dashed, colour etc). You

If you wish to show "underground" stuff . . .

You can hide the terrain and replace it with a flat thin "cube" or floor or ??? (import a 'plane') that has a grass or other texture and make it with transparency....so you can see thru the grass to the underground objects such as drains, sewers, electrical, gas, etc

If you use a floor, you can cutout around the house (like terrain does automatically) and not run it thru a basement etc.

It would be nice if terrain could do transparency (good suggestion for IMSI) but I have not found any ability to do so.
