Still having trouble with 24" x 36" pdf printing
tried new software PDF 24 attcahed is a screen shot from pdf
written with this program at 1/4" scale just will not fill up the 36"
wide sheet
Please help at this point the program is useless if i cant write pdf to send to clients
Hi again,
To test the proportion, I first draw 4 walls 144' x 96'. This is 4 times the paper size proportion (36 x 4 = 144 and 24 x 4 = 96). I then created a custom paper size in PDF24 that was 36" x 24" and generated the PDF using 1/4" scale. As you can see on the attached PDF, the four walls exactly fit the page in the correct proportion. I dragged the dimension line inside the walls as they were forcing the program to split it over two pages, but as you can see the dimensions are there and printed to PDF in the correct proportion.
I have included an image of my TFP Print and PDF24 settings. For some reason I had to reverse the Width and Height settings in PDF24. No idea why but if I did not do that, it wanted to print Landscape but spread over two Portrait 36x24 pages.
What are the actual dimensions of the lines that you are printing in your example?
How are you choosing the print area? Are you using 'Window' and selecting the 'Window' tight around the area you want to print? (if you include any blank areas of the screen in the print area it will try to print them also even if the area is blank0.
Allan
Thank you I will give that a try I do tend to get impatient
Thanks again
Still having printing problems Im attaching the bld file
Could someone please test it for me Im thinking my computer
may be the problem
No problems this end - the file itself is fine. Using PDF24 and a custom page size of 24" x 36", your 'border' filled the page exactly (as it did for the BLD file you emailed to me - I used all the same settings).
I am no computer expert but I can't think of any way the computer itself could get the proportion wrong.
Post a screen image of your print settings, just so we can confirm that you have it right.

OK - that looks fine as you can see by the Preview and that is what TFP is sending to the PDF printer. In PDF 24, in the Custom page settings, do you have the page size as 24" wide and 36" high? I know that is back to front for landscape but I had to do that otherwise it wanted to put it across 2 pages.
Can you post the PDF 24 Properties and Custom page dialogs also?

Verify your PDF settings as well as the TFP printing settings and see if they match. Sometimes the PDF programs ignore the printing instructions from the drawing software

tfp settings and pdf settings are the same
According with your screenshot, the settings look different
The TFP settings show Width= 36" and Heigth= 24" --> The PDF24 seetings show Width= 24" and Heigth= 36"
See attached

I changed the settings still having the same problem
Also have tried 4 different pdf printers have the same
problem with all of them
Have tried on 2 different computers vista and 7 get the same problem on both
Thought the download of the program might be corrupt so I download again
still same problem
I made a c size 18 X 24 border and title block it prints perfect
but most of my plans have to be d size 24 x 36 suppose I will just go back to my old software
I do thank everyone for your help but certainly the biggest waste of a $100.00 I ever spent
I noticed on the one print dialog box it said to feed long edge first (it has a drop down box choice)....this seems incorrect for most printers or it will make portrait into landscape or vice versa.
Did you try changing that setting? Most all printers are setup to feed paper in with the smaller dimension first so as to handle the paper better/more effecticely for control.
I use PDFCreator and PDF24 (as well as other real paper printers) and have never had any issue similar to your problem....but printer settings can be fussy until you try nearly every setting...and there could be a bug; may pay to contact the program source or if their user forum.
Will try those settings thank you
Still does not work
You have previously posted the various settings used, can you also post the actual PDF that is produced from this same file.
